Subject: RE: Cutting a propane tank

When I was a kid I watched a couple of guys place a gasoline tank in the middle of a field, stuck a gasoline soaked rag in the hole and ran a long trail of gas from it. Lit the gas trail and stood way back. I remember the tank jumping several feet off the ground with flame shooting out the holes but the tank didn't rupture. Pretty cool for a kid. They then converted the tank into a goose pit. I've also been told by a propane guy that propane tanks are safe to work on once they are opened up and aired out because the propane doesn't stick around but I have no experience with this.
