My dad always said when picking a lot to build a house use an airplane altimeter to make sure you are on the high ground for that area... Being we kept a J3 Cub on the farm there always seemed to be a spare altimeter on the shelf in the shop... These days a smart phone with the fancy GPS app will probably work...
