I didn't see any politics in the original post except for wondering why a Obama loving Floridan would drive a SUV to take their kid to school when there is an ecologically friendly method of public transportation available. It seems inconsistent.

Some people are just too sensitive.

Myself, I think there are as many reasons to haul your kid to school as there are kids(or parents). "Today", folks can afford to. In the distant past, it wasn't even a realistic option, when families 'only' had one car, and Dad had that at work.
