If you plant, spray, scout your own crops, harvest and rent the coops dry fert spreader and apply your own dry fert..... Along with enough livestock to get you out of the house every day..... You will welcome the "break" in the winter to go through all your equipment and get ready to do it all over again...


Sounds like you just need a plan to get there... Cause if you don't like doing this farming thing all the time and for little to no pay in the first 5-10 years... Then you are better off sticking with a banker job or insurance.


The reason I am looking to work off the farm is to build up cash so I can farm full time eventually, I would love it if I had the opportunity farm full time right away but that just isn't going to happen. As far as livestock goes, would hope to put up a finisher building and/or feed cattle on a small scale when the town job is over. I figure the livestock will help with the transition from part time to full time.
