Embarrass WI | It is Just My Opinion, but I think when you consider an off-farm job, you need to look at an OFF-FARM job. Not someone else's farm. Get something that is not ag-centric. Learn how the 'outside world' works.
Even selling parts or equipment, or hiring on with a co-op to do scouting or custom app, would be better for your long-term growth than just doing what you've been doing in a different spot.
Your family wll have an opportunity to see what they miss without you there, and you will have an opportunity to see what else there is.
Step out of your comfort zone. Get experience doing something that would look good on a resume if you ever need to get out of farming. It happens-injuries, allergies, spouses-there are many reasons why you may have to get out of ag and you never know what the future holds. |
