we just pick, wash, cut into 1'' peices, then vacum pack it. don't know if anyone else does this but mid winter we can take it out of freezer and cook and it will taste like the day ya picked it. maybe I'm doing it wrong cause I have'nt tasted mushy asparagus in a long time.
