Eastern ND | 1. Were the new fingers set up on a test stand with a sample of Your seed? That is the only way to get them set accurately.
2. Then check Your brushes. Are they the adjustable ones? Set them according to the sticker--pretty close.
3. Have the drive tires been changed lately? New ones are going to be different diameter even if they say they are the same size. Tire pressure is very important. 3-5 psi will make a difference.
4. Ground speed is very important with finger planters. Slower is NOT always better. If I remember correctly, 5 - 5.3 worked the best for Me. Slower got more doubles. faster got more skips.
5. Check the monitor calibration. Do as the book says.
6. Double check the number of teeth on the sprockets and pay attention to Drive or Drive number of teeth.
If all this still doesn't help, You are going to have to do a weigh out of the seed applied over a known acreage. | |
