Hazelton, Kansas
Kirk:

On our 1895, we removed the openers individually, working our way in from the outside. Our procedure was:

1. Remove the closing wheel and arm, the press wheel and arm, the depth gaging wheel, the boot, and the disk.

2. Use an impact to remove the nut at the rear of the main downforce spring.

3. Lastly, pull the main pivot pin (held in by the cross-bolt) and remove the main arm.

This method leaves the spring and clamshell clamp on the rockshaft, and reduces the weight that you have to muscle out from under the drill.

You need two people. One runs the impacts under the drill, and the other schlepps parts and tools to and from him.

Using this method, two of us removed one rank (22 openers) in just under 2 hours. Reassembly takes longer.

Your mileage may vary...I know a 750 is somewhat different.
