Mid. Michigan | Have friends that have started to dock as it is easier and probably better for the animals than allowing the tail to freeze off like many of their dairy cows. They live in the upper penninsula of michigan and I can remember asking them why they cut the tails off their cows. Answer: They didn't the tails were frost bitten and fell off...Hence it is better to do it when they are a calf. | |
