If there is only one person you just do continuous CPR, if you have a partner u do 30 and 2 on an adult and 15 and 2 on a pediatric. The reason for continuous CPR with one person is that u are moving air in and out with each compression, it is more vital to keep the blood flowing to the brain and the oxygen that goes in on each compression is adequate for the brain there for u do compressions before u assess the airway.
