Panhandle of Ne.
I don't know of any other occupation that you can be a welder, electrician, mechanic, soil expert, seed expert, chemical expert, doctor, physicologist, carpenter, bug expert, AMS specialist, fixer of all things that need to be fixed with baling wire/duct tape and not have to have a liscense to practice any of these. Or "jack of all trades, master of nothing" and all of these occupations can be and sometimes are used all in the same day.

I don't believe there is an occupation, except possibly a liscensed med. doctor, that is as close to God as a farmer is.

I like the idea of being the eternal optimist although that can become difficult at times.

I like the challenge, the reward for a job well done, nobody looking over my shoulders, the almost daily chance of making a mistake, hoping I learned from it and hopefully can fix it and it not costing anybody but me because it was my mistake.

I would be the worst employee known to man if I worked for somebody else, so better stick with what I know and love.
