If you are not familiar with the 30 series JD, do some checking. There were several PIPS done on these tractors. One of them being an updated fan clutch. Some folks have had their share of problems with the fuel systems, but there are some that haven't had any trouble at all. The JD dealer can look up the history on the tractor. If it has had a lot of problems, I would stay away from it JMHO. Seems to me the 8030 series weren't JD's finest hour in building tractors.

As for the ILS, love it, wouldn't have a tractor without it now. Just remember, the more stuff there is on any piece of machinery, the more stuff that can go wrong.

Do a google search on problems with thse tractors. I would bet that some discussion about them will show up from this forum.
