Mascoutah, Illinois | Recession coming in the next two years as commodity prices will take the consumer to the woodshed. Consumer is starting to look weak from what I am seeing over the past couple of months at my place of employment. I am not sure what has slowed the consumer down unless gasoline prices are already starting to become a problem. With that being said, I still think we see anywhere from $3.80-$7.50 for corn and $8.50-$13.50 for beans. A trend never lasts forever, just ask all of the folks who were flipping houses in masses for four to five years only to get caught with their pants down around their ankles. The folks bidding up cash rents will eventually feel the same pain. | |
