I dare say that the older generation that you so aptly call them most likely paid for all the school buildings that are in use today. Nearly all the bond elections today are for artificial turf, paved parking lots, brand new bleachers, new dressing rooms, new gyms, and a myriad other sports related events that are placed in front of any educational needs.

The school buildings I am talking about were paid for long before anyone who is alive now was paying taxes. We seem to have a generation who has milked the buildings and now doesn't want us to renovate or rebuild. The longer we let things deteriorate the more likely we have to build new. These schools are the heart of our community, not the library. Families looking for a town to live in look at the school system first.
