IL | Lowlite would be the weather. It started out ok, but 20+ inches of rain in June, then nothing but heat in July, made for half a cornv crop for the second yr in row. Beans were ave yield, but help out alot with the higher prices. Seeing the record high corn prices, then not being able to raise it, was frustrating.
Hightlites of the yr involved our kids. Mc turned into my harvest partner after school. I finally bought a set of FM radios so we could communicate all the time. That made harvest more fun, in spite of the yields.
Mais had a successful Vball season as as sophmore. She made 2 all tourny teams, All Area Honorable Mention, and All Conf. Honorable Mention. And she still has 2 more yrs to go in HS. Plus keeping the grades up.
Here's looking forward to a better 2012, with God's blessing | |
