east central ND | This area was normally 1 fall tillage pass. This was from way back when wheat and barley were the normal crops. Combining was normally done by the end of august. If the renter did nothing the weeds would take over before the contract was fully expired, and any kind of deal was made for the next year or not..... Times might be changing with rents going the way they are. If I could get some more ground I would gladly spend the time and money for fall tillage on a new peice of ground.(very little no-till around -ground stays too cold in spring) | |
