North Liberty and South Bend, Indiana
I can't say anything specific about FC but I will say be very cautious with any independent seed. Now, we do plant independent seed... Sunstar which is outta Burr Oak, IN but they are proven and have been on this farm since I was a wee tot. Reason I say be cautious is we got some free bags of Heritage seed about 6 years ago. Got three different numbers and ALL three were horrible. 40 bpa less on the weigh wagon and down bad while none of the others went down, had Sunstar and Garst in that particular plot. That free seed cost us in the end. Not sure if you just have an unfortunate occourance with that particular number getting burnt with some bad weather or if that one is just bad. Maybe all the FC you have is bad, I don't know but be cautious and please get some yield checks on all of it and report back.
