Subject: RE: fielders choice seed corn?

stormchased1 - 9/11/2011 19:20 I planted some fielders choice seed this year, the price was good. I noticed that some of the seed came up a little slower and those same plants have smaller ears or no ear. The difference had to be the seed as my pioneer corn all came up together and all has nice ears, also all the corn was planted in a few consecutive days and no extreme weather to mess it up. The only thing I can think of is that the fc seed was older seed and some of the seed had weaker germ. Is this a common occurance with fc seed? Thanks.

You have found why the Fielders Choice is a poor choice, and a discounter, sellers bottom of the barrel.
The small amount you saved in seed cost is going to cost you big time come harvest this year.

Hopefully some others will learn from this.
