Subject: Re: Agrigold

Just shelled AG 6633 vs DKC 64-69 and Dekalb won by 20 bushels/A. The planter was split and we got a good test all the way across the field. The field went from a rolling hill and dropped off into a bottom so we got to see a couple of different environments, too. On the hill the Dekalb seemed to be a bit tougher in a 130 type yield environment, but where we dropped off into the bottom the Dekalb really took off. By the time we got through with the field the farmer I was riding with was fighting mad because he stripped the field. The way he saw it, the 120 acre field split by half was 60 acres that lost 20 bu/A. At 7.50 corn, that adds up quick. I will have to say, though, that the Agrigold looked healthier and seemed to shell better, But I guess that doesn't matter at the end of the day. Dekalb greensnapped some. Field was fungicided.
