Was a director on a small town bank board for over thirty years. Just let any director know what you are hearing and it will stop right now. We never ever tolerated any talking about peoples business. My wife would be at different functions and someone in the group would ask a leading question, she'd wait till they looked at her then say don't ask me I don't anything and whats more I don't want to know anything, it is none of my or your business.
Don't get me started on Farm Credit either, they lured me in once and then I was stupid enough to go back the second time. Had to use a credit source other than the bank board I was on because Federal bank examiners were always on the look out for insider transactions and stock trading.
It was just easier to borrow somewhere else.
