Agree with gerald. Even planting depth and warm conditions. Steve won't plant until the soil is 60 degrees at 7 am. Those guys probably don't plant over 4 mph and sometimes probably even slower. And they run extremely sophisticated down pressure systems (kips plot planter uses formula 1 racing inspired shocks on his monosem). Couple that with seed beds that would put your wifes garden to shame after 5 trips across with a roto tiller and you get even emergence
