I dont think anybody in Egypt or Libya "EXPECTS" the american farmer to sell them cheap food. Im guessing very little of your corn exports goes to the middle east?

I would think no one expects you to sell at a loss either although that may very well happen in some years. The onus is on you the producer to produce below market price therefore turning a profit! If you can not do this then you should sell your acres to someone who can. That is basic business. Why should you get any government money on the supple and demand side of your business?

What do other small businesses do when they can not make money? What about that barber shop in town? The local mechanic? What kind of government money do they receive?

Also you dont really produce food. You produce a commidty that is then further processed into food. Unless you actually hace Frosted Flakes and Doritos in those bins?
