I don't know anything about the OP's operation, but "here" 800 acres is plenty for one guy(unless the guy is super super high energy). Probably at least 40 different fields where corn belt or great plains equipment won't fit. Takes much more time per acre than when a small field is an 80 and a 16 row planter is outdated.

IMO, good help pays it's own way. You almost can't overpay a good guy. And a poor employee should pay you to work there.
