Subject: huh?

The Internet
we have an 11 year old Manitou industrial forklift. It's used everyday and is approaching 7000 hours, alot of those hours have gone on quite hard. It is a hydro. The control linkage is now getting very worn, but if that lot was replaced it is very, very smooth and fast. Miles better than the old torque converter, you don't get the "clunk" when you select drive. Drive quickly towards a box, take your foot off the gas and it comes quickly and smoothly to a controlled stop. You never use the brakes. I'm not even sure if it has brakes, it feels like it shuts a valve somewhere.

I'm not sure if it was the pump or motor that failed at about 3500 hours, but one of them did and I understand it cost about £1/hr in repairs. Ouch. But it has been fine since.

Some telehandlers are hydros. I've used a Merlo and that would push easily as well as any torque converter machine.
