Subject: Test Boxes

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Yes, it's about 20 years old now. As you have speculated, it is simply a box with a momentary pushbutton. It also has an indicator light to check for voltage to ground on the other pair. It doesn't have the long cable but I use an extension if necessary.

I also have another "test box" that consists of an LED in a small box. This box has a male and female conxall connector so the box can be temporarily inserted in the flow cable at any junction that uses the conxall connectors. The LED will blink each time a pulse is created by the flowmeter thus immediately telling the operator if the flowmeter is actually working properly.

These test boxes can be very handy for initial setup and troubleshooting.

This is the same scheme that I use with my Raven Flowmeter to my Insight with App Rate module that I use to monitor my liquid starter fertilizer on my corn planter. The flowmeter is connected to the App Rate module but also passes through to an LED in a planter box that I made. This box is attached by velcro inside the cab.

This box also contains a switch to prevent my markers from operating. On my planter, the markers are tied in common with the lift. By using an electric solenoid, I can prevent the markers from operating which is my normal operating procedure with Autopilot. By flipping the switch Off, I can resume normal marker operation if that should be desirable.
