Think your last sentence says it all.  Times are good for equipment dealers.  High priced grain has made some of them feel like they are doing you a favor by doing business with you.  Sad thing is there are a lot of poor managers out there running businesses.   It is their employees (such as the truck driver you mentioned) who really understand what taking care of the customer is all about.  

My thanks go out to all the employees out there who take it upon themselves to go out of their way to help the customers.  We need to think about them too before taking our business elsewhere.
