Soutwest Ks. | I think a lot of things can be said about the choice of farming with older equipment. There is something that feels really good to keep a tractor in as good of shape as when it was new. Kind of a pride of ownership thing. Many big farmers who trade every year or so never really experience that joy of maintaining something to last the milenium. I have both late model and old machinery and regardless if it is late model or old I try to keep the stuff clean and well maintained. Both types have their niche. I do find however when farmers start thinking about going with GPS equipment that it almost sounds the death knell on the old stuff. Just not economically feasible in most cases. | |
