Ea. Washington | I spent a winter in !955 working on a Drill rig in Calif. Most of the men on the crew were either young men or babies when the dust bowl hit and made the migration to California. Good hard working men all of them. When the derrick man found out that my folks owned land and were farmers up in Washington nothing would do but I had to go home with him for supper and meet his daughter. This went on for about three nights a week all winter. They all wanted to get back to the land some way or other. This gave me a special meaning to the Grapes Of Wrath and has been my favorite story ever since. Will watch it any time it is on. She was a looker too. Well, maybe shouda, couda, wouda.
