Lubbock, Texas | one you can't possibly compare the ACTs and SATs from past and present because anyone that knows anything about the SATs and ACTs knows that they adjust the test, they adjust the scoring, and they have totally remodeled the test to including a writing section in the last 10 years......so there is actually no real reliable way to compare past SAT and ACT averages to today's scores......they can use some mathematical adjustments and when I have seen attempts to do that it shows that the average scores are NOT increasing

so we can see (adjusted scoring still a factor) that Reading and Writing was well better in 1972........math looks to be about stagnant over time with a slight up and down trend......hardly shows that any "technology" has made any significant difference especially for all the money spent on it
as for the arabs, azns, and Indians in the IT field......50%+ of nearly every engineering class or CS at every university in the USA will be filled with at least 50% azns, arabs, and Indians......because USA liberal professors love foreign students because they work cheap, like slaves, and never question things (though I can assure you they are often not honest with professors especially in graduate student research.....US companies can import them (or hire them while still here) with an HB1 visa, they will still work cheap, like a slave, and never ask questions.......when you have a country like India, the vast majority of AZN countries, and arab countries where they think nothing of letting little habib sink in the 5th grade (if he made it to fifth grade) and become a ditch digger for life while those that excel continue on for further education including possibly being sent by that country to the USA to study computer science and engineering.......while Biff and Bunny from the lilly white suburbs here in the USA major in hip hop studies, or welfare distribution science
and we do the exact opposite in our lower grade schools.....we are so worried about making sure that qualtraytroltell and jaquavios not getting their feelings hurt when they get another F on their papers that we have dumbed down the entire education system to the detriment of all......those foreign students and workers still did not learn in a high tech school filled with PCs ect......they learned in a place where if you wanted to "axe a foo" all day you were sent to gladly "ack a foo" at the dump sorting what you find edible from what others have cast aside....and many of the Indians especially in engineering and CS classes in the USA also have the equivalent of an associated degree already in It or something similar.....those degrees in India are considered a BS level degree, but in the rest of the world they are not......so their country will send them here to get the full US BS level degree.......again in a study of value like engineering or CS instead of some garbage degree that so many US universities love to serve up
India and Asian and arab countries also don't let people that are mushed mouthed, minor criminals, with pathetic educational credentials into their top universities (much less send them to the USA) because they can hit a ball far or put a ball through a hoop with excitement or tote the rock for 1500 yards in high school......we LOVE to waste our university educational resources on these fools in the USA
pretending that foreign students learn in schools filled with technology and that is why they are ahead is about as far from the truth as the truth could be.....they are better students and they are better able to learn because they come from a place where you sink or swim starting at grade K and at every level until grade 12 or beyond
I am not saying we need to go to that extreme here in the USA.....but I am saying we need to do a better job teaching BASICS right from the start, we are doing pathetic with discipline and parental responsibility, and we are far far too concerned with trashaquans feelings VS letting it know it is a fool and a loser and it will be repeating the 5th grade yet again and it will continue to repeat the 5th grade until it can pass based on level of intelligence not based on age, attitude, or football stats....and we certainly are not going to let it sit in another class of regular 5th graders to disturb them
so there are several answers to your questions.....1. you were wrong about the SATs and ACTs......even if you can compare them and that is difficult because of test changes
India and Asia and arab counties believe in sink or swim, and their students come into US universities often at an advanced level VS the US students they now compete with because of HB1 visas that employers love because it gives them a cheap yes man with a lot to lose if they complain about pay or working conditions | |
