Subject: Went to field day today, wondering about Smartstax

Farming in NW Iowa
I went to a field day today put on by the local coop, (Dekalb, Croplan and NK seed) they were saying in corn the only thing that has no earworm pressure is the Smartstax corn. Wasn't this supposed to be controlled by Herculex and VT3? I've never planted any of the 3 technologies mentioned. Also had some varieties showing Goss's wilt, apparently a bacteria. The whole plot was sprayed with Headlne, which won't control bacteria, only thing that can be done is select varities with higher tolerance. Also some soybeans with SDS.
