SE IL and SW IN
Until I am proven wrong, i would say that you have a snowball's chance for crimson clover to survive the winter. If planted early enough, hairy vetch can survive the winter at your location. Albert Lea Seed Co. has a locally produced strain that should do as well as any vetch for you.
