| IF things get that bad then gold and silver won't be the answer, for once they are spent they are gone. More important is to have the ability to do something that people can't do themselves or the means to produce something they need. I would not be surprised in the situation you describe for PMs to drop in value as they become a medium of exchange rather than an investment. Ones holding PMs will be forced to put them into circulation to recieve anything for it.
