Subject: Re: Time to book 32%?

Had an experience with fuel supplier. He'd call up and ask if I needed fuel as he would be in area soon doing route, I only live 1.5 miles from his bulk tanks. I said ok, he fills, in short time price of fuel goes down. Year or so later samething happens. He calls, I say ok, he fills, I'm screwed again. Now my new fuel guy doesn't call me at all, I call him. Same thing nearly happened with fertilizer 2 years ago. The salesman for the local coop shows early fall up wanting to book my fertilizer needs for the next year. During his conversation little warning bells were ringing in my head. Like an idiot I booked about 25% of my needs, while he was pushing for me to buy it all. The next spring prices were well below my original purchase price. I think most distributors warn there buyers about price movements well in advance to allow them to get repositioned so they can continue to screw the enduser.
If they're calling to book now, its probably to cover their ass, not yours.
