Subject: Ear loss with corn head

Central KS
I am running an 843 on a 9750. Am having trouble losing some ears. They want to roll back down the gathering chains. I have the calmers trash reduction kit as well. It doesn't do a real nice job of chopping up the stalks unless I run 3-4 miles per hour. I have sped up the oil bath drives to where they are on the overdrive side. That helped a lot, but still not as well as I would like. I can live with the stalks not getting chopped up, but I do not like how many ears i am losing. I have Clarke poly snouts with ear savers, but it is still losing quite a few. Was thinking of making a wedge kit for it, wondering how much I needed to add. I have 20.8 x 42 duals on the front and 28Lx26's on the back(those don't help matters). Suggestions of how much wedge I need or other ideas would be apprectiated.
