Hitch is no problem. Lights would be nice, but red flags and or reflectors will do. DO NOT put a SMV sign on it if you plan to travel at more than 25 mph.
Many a ND truck driver has got his rear chewed for hauling a tractor or combine with the SMV sign showing. The cops rightly do not want the public getting used to seeing SMV's moving at more than 25 mph, although this rule gets broken all the time with AA tanks on the highway.
