Thanks everyone, they are Liberty beans, and were planted on May 9th, so right at 39 days when I was looking at them last weekend. Will check again this weekend. We have had plenty of rain thus far, too much at times earlier, but pattern tiled and lighter ground overall, so they seem to be doing well. Field was sprayed just 2 days before with Headline and Asana, and some got another shot of liberty. Overall, I'd say (without hard counts) that their was a few more nodules then the washed photo Ed posted. Definately concentrated near the center root mass, but as of yet, not quite as great of a variation in size as Ed's photo's show. I will check again this weekend and do a more thurough evaluation of the numbers/size and color.

Does the concentration of nodules around the center root mass just show the effect of inoculation on the seed / in the trench zone, or is that still common with non-inoculated beans?
