nc Ne
our drought that we just came out of was 7 years . I did not live in the 30's so can't say but our farming practices allowed us to grow crops by conserving the limited rainfall, there only way was to turn the dirt to get the weeds. We chopped a lot of silage as the corn did'nt pollinate a lot of times leaving 0 -40 bu corn . Sometimes only one cutting of hay. The other thing is that we have some control over the insects. The wind and heat are the worst for us here. When the wind blows it drys things out in a hurry. I would rather have it too wet than too dry. I also think that the best time for a drought is in the winter!
