southern Illinois | In our little part of the world our corn and beans both got a real good stand the first try. We have been lucky as the rains have been mostly .5 instead of 5 inches like some have been having. Corn is about chest high and 15 inch beans are about to close the rows and moisture is just right.
We look better than last year as far as a stand but I doubt we will have the crop like last year, never have before, a couple dry weeks at the right time will kill our lite soils.
I feel for the guys that are too wet to get finished up. | |
