| Like others have said, almost all airports have an Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS) or ASOS at alot of airports. Updated minute by minute. All have a phone line that you can listen on. Gives a time stamp in GMT time, the direction the wind is coming FROM in degrees, 360, 045, 180 etc. Wind speed in knots, at 15% to get to MPH, temperture and dewpoint in *C. Also gives the sky conditions and ceiling if needed and the local altimeter setting but thats not important for you guys. I suppose if you were really worried about drift and liability you could record the message on the local AWOS. With the time stamp it would be pretty good evidence if there ever was an issue. | |
