I'm not sure that the Insight has all of the capabilities of the FMD as far as viewing and changing variables within the 252 receiver.
You are right in that the FMD has more in terms of diagnostics and ability to set certain parameters within the 252 and Autopilot. Afterall, the software is Trimble!
On the other hand, the Insight is far more capable in terms of data logging functionality and diversity of use.
Just depends what you want but at this time, there will be few FMD's sold in the UK and parts of Europe.
