I have run into this multiple times. In the attached example there are duplicate/similar seed products that need to be cleaned up. One would expect the drop down list would contain both seed products in the report, but they are not present. 

I have also noticed that if I go into Setup>Products, many of the items that appear in reports are not in the product list. Super confusing.
