Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I'm confused by the plumbing arrangement. How many sections are involved?
If the rig is split into two sections, I would expect to see 3 ON/OFF valves. There would be an overall Master, a Left section ON/OFF valve and a Right section ON/OFF valve. Normally all 3 valves would be ON for full swath application. For half width application, the Master and one of the section valves would be ON and the other OFF. The operator could use either half for the half width pass.
Although I've not seen it done this way, I guess it would be possible to get by with only 2 ON/OFF valves, if one was considered the Master and the other just one half. Possibly this is your layout. In other words, for full swath application both ON/OFF valves would be ON. For half swath operation, the Master would be ON and the secondary valve OFF. This would require that the operator always use the same "half" of the rig for partial passes. This might be acceptable to the operator and could save the cost of another ON/OFF valve. |
