caseihfarmer - 5/31/2026 16:44 so last year i put a gen3 in my planter tractor and equipped it with all the fancy stuff they offer. i am a big ag leader supporter but at the time they had a hiccup with whoever and were getting sued so they did not have the planter offering equipment i needed so this is the route i had to take at the time. fast forward to today. i want to pull my planter data into sms to look over and use for future reference. today i went to move the data and first noticed that a 3 gig thumb drive didn't seem to fit all the fields on it, it was full and the files listed were jibberish with an extension "tmp". i then assumed that since it filled the drive up so quickly that it likely didn't accomplish what it needed. so i then cleared the drive and went back out to the display and moved one file from 2026. it was a 66 acre field. i brought it in and the file transferred properly but it is showing it is a 176 mb file. that is insane. is there any way to make these files a manageable size? my sms file goes back 20 years. I farm a couple thousand acres and also manage some of my dad and brothers data so i have probably been dealing with 3-5000 acres for the last 20 years and my sms backup file is about 8 gig. from what i am seeing here is that by pulling data from the 2020 into my sms project we are looking at about 10 gig of data for this planting season only. are people doing this? as i asked before, is there a more manageable file that could be pulled in? i really only need variety data coverage. downforce and smart firmer data is not necessary. can anyone recommend how to deal with this? the one thing i did do is record coverage on the agleader screen doing the steering. it is very crude but that may be the only solution for trying not to crash my sms project file. just curious of other experiences. thanks.

My experience with PP data is that it takes much longer to process and occupies much more space relative to Deere or Ag Leader data.
