What's the advantage in the oat/pea blend for this kind of deal vs. rye/triticale that everyone else seems to do? I'm throwing around the idea of a little bit of baleage for backgrounding calves on all forage ration and developing heifers. I'm really wanting to take advantage more of direct marketing my southpoll steers to grass finishers have had several people ask me about this group of fall calves I have going next month and have had to sadly tell them they've been in the lot eating gluten pellets and I stuck an implant in their ear sadly so to the salebarn they go this year. |
