Casey IL. ( I -70 ) then south on rt.49 | In my area it's mostly farm land ,corn and beans, no one around me for miles don't want to put in the work for cattle.
The other part to the story is the banks want loan money on cattle but will loan you a 100,000x00 on a camper or 600,000.xx on a new combine. Then set around and complain why they lose money on a farm running new machinery.
I guess I'm just nuts because I have raised and fed cattle since 1967 . I can't say I ever lost on cattle but had many times I only made 6.xx- 8.xx a head . But I had several years in grain farming I wasn't sure how to go on.
But my cattle kept me going those years and the years cattle wasn't good grain farming kept things going.
Bottom line I like my cattle and yes it takes a lot of time and work.
