I would recommend using the switch to disengage the steering vs grabbing the wheel. That way you can set that number higher so it doesn't randomly disengage.
I've found this to be the case when I use Steady Steer in my combine for harvesting soybeans. Grabbing the wheel to disengage does work but I find that using the switch to engage AND disengage seems smoother. As I approach the end of a pass, I touch my switch and the system "lets go" and I perform my usual turnaround steps. With my tractors which have integrated steering I just grab the wheel to disengage.
I have the Turn Path unlock that we use with integrated steering on the planter tractor but do not use it on the combine.
