NW IL | Dad had a 4430 that he wished he would have kept. It had been turned way up. He would pull a 5 bottom plow and 20ft soil finisher with it.
But it got traded for a 4440 that ended up being less power. The 4440 still gets used a lot, feed wagon and round baler, sometimes the discbine and hayrake, every once in a while pulling gravity wagons in the fall. It's right around 14,000hr but did have a reman engine put in a few years ago.
Our 4450 still gets a lot of hours too, about 600 last year, about at 13,000hr but in for engine work right now.
I kind of wish dad would have had the money to get a 4850 or bigger tractor. It would be handy to have now. But the 90s were tough for dairy folks, and current dollars have other priorities. | |
