Ag Express said if I flip the 2 pins at each clutch I won't have to replace the whole harness. Just get the CH2002 JD rate controller y to my Ag Leader harness.
The above sounds reasonable to me although I've never done that exact combination.
I reason I became aware of the polarity change situation is that I was making adapter cables for a distant sub dealer when I worked as a Tech several years ago. I had made some adapter cables for him to install on his customer's planters and they worked fine.
One day he called and said that my adapters had "burned out" some SureStops on a recent install he had done.
That install consisted of some of the original SureStops where both wires were white and the rest were the new style that were polarity sensitive and had a red and black wire. The old style ones worked fine but the new style ones burned out.
It was then that I investigated and an Ag Leader Tech said that some OEM requested that the SureStops should be polarity sensitive for some reason. After that I changed the adapters I was making by swapping the two wires to the opposite order.
