Subject: RE: Looking into an automatic semi

I went cheap. I intended NOT to buy a semi. A few local options that were cheap. *but of course busy when I wanted to haul, or wanted to bring +2 trucks at once, multiple hauls*
I took a look as I was going 5 miles away from truck. Just got a good feeling. Batteries were junk, he jump started. But I could not drive as no lic/insurance, questionable electric might mess up transmission shifts?
I liked rig. Bid crazy low. Got bid over $50. I bid, got it. Volvo 2004 12 speed automatic.
Loaded/empty it likes to skip gears. It feels longer than it is. I have tried manual mode loaded. You can be more agressive both speeding up, and Jake braking down. PLUS ÎF you do not need to stop you can set correct gear.
I.E. yield intersection. You want to roll thru 10-15 mph. In auto it’s still in 7th w/jake. M I drop down to 5 loaded. It slows faster, speeds up better. Economy often waits way too long before shifting up 2 gears.
