Western New York | We use almost exclusively automatics. Little bit of everything but most common in a road tractor is the DT-12 in a pair of western stars and freightliners. Like driving a big pickup, they shift smooth. Switch it to manual when you need to shift quick taking off or to keep it in low pulling out of a field. Use them for corn silage, grain corn and hauling carrots to the cannery. They handle 90-100k like it’s hardly there. Easier for just about anyone to drive them. Couldn’t pay me to be in a standard truck all day. | |
